So far we've got:
We propose that an animal rights club is set up in school to promote animal welfare and to raise awareness of animal cruelty that many people unwittingly support. This club could be used as a forum to discover and discuss issues involving animal cruelty and the methods by which they can be stopped.

We propose that an animal rights club is set up in school to promote animal welfare and to raise awareness of animal cruelty that many people unwittingly support. This club could be used as a forum to discover and discuss issues involving animal cruelty and the methods by which they can be stopped.
And we can pinch stuff from this:
There are many issues regarding the well-being of animals in today's society including those in wildlife, animal cruelty, animals in entertainment, animals in science, pets, and factory farming. Our goal as a club in the high school will be to raise awareness about animal rights in the school and community and help out animals in need. We will try to help in all areas of animal welfare by educating people about the issues that face animals, raising money for local non-profit organizations that help animals, and putting ourselves out in the community to try and change the policies of local businesses to become more animal friendly.
There are many people who do not care to think about how their actions could affect animals. The first step in changing people's ways is educating them, so our goal is to raise awareness and educate them, so that hopefully in the future they will think about what they are doing and if/how it could be either hurting or helping animals. One way we could do this is by going to elementary schools and speaking to the students there, exposing them to the
truths about animal cruelty so they can make informed decisions as they grow up. We could also try to have commercials on the morning announcements, interviews with professionals, and classes on vegetarian cooking. We can provide resources on the issues that face animals as listed above.
We will also raise money and supplies to help animals. We can have
collection boxes in homerooms to gather supplies needed by animal shelters, i.e. food, blankets, office supplies, etc. Another thing we could do is have vegan bake sales, which will not only raise money but will also spread the idea of veganism and that vegan food can be delicious. The money can then be donated to non-profit organizations such as ASPCA, alley-cat allies, or just local shelters. One idea we have is to raise enough money to sponsor a TNR (trap-neuter-return) of feral cats in the area. Another way we could raise money is to follow the example of the Compassion in Action club at Newport Harbor High in South California. They had people donate items for a rummage sale held at their school, and the proceeds went to a non-profit organization.
We will try to put ourselves out into the community to help animals.
We can write letters to various local leaders to try and change their policies on issues varying from what to do about feral cat populations to what cleaning products to use. We can try to get people to buy products such as makeup or cleaning products that have not been tested on animals. We will speak to people who have feral cat problems and try to figure out a way to fix the problem that does not involve killing them/sending them to a shelter where they will just be euthanized. We can go to places such as shelters or rehabilitation places to volunteer with animals firsthand.
The list of things we can do to help animals is endless. We hope to
make at least a small difference in the way they are treated, and hope that others will follow our example. We want to be the voice to help those who don't have one.
