Not a PETA campaaign but still... Its a campaign by WDCS (The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society) and 8th-14th June 2009 is Save the Whale week this year (They have one every year) I get a letter every year now =]
Basically youre meant to raise money to help stop commercial whaling. The theme this year is red (??) and theyve suggested things like: -Organise a Wear Red to school day -Hold a red themed cake/cookie/biscuit sale at your school/club -Throw a red themed party -Hold a red themed quiz at your school/club -Organise a sponsered red themed activity
AND "Take part in our cake challenge" which im gonna explain now: "Your challenge is to design and bake a cake (or cakes) with a whale, whaling or red theme and raise money around it. Then they suggest other stuff like selling slices of cake, have a cake decorating party or whatever and the winner ("the best cake, with the cleverest funding idea") will get a free goodie bag from their shop and a pic will be printed in their monthly newsletter. The first 100 kids to send in over £50 get a free whale badge with their certificate...
Since commercial whaling was banned in 1986, 20,000 whales have been killed by Japanese whalers alone. If we laid the dead whales end to end they would stretch from London to Birmingham
DONT LET THE SEA RUN RED

aww we so should i really want a certificate! lol i dont think it'd be too hard to raise over £50 if we do it in school or whatever. I was gonna say we could do something sponsered for it but there isnt really anything thats to do with the red theme...unless we do a like spomsered silence whilst wearing red or something...
